Who We Are

Dr. Amy Donaldson, an associate professor in the Department of Speech & Hearing Sciences, is the Director of the Autism and Social Communication Lab (ASC Lab). The ASC Lab team is composed of undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate students who are interested in partnering with individuals on the autism spectrum, their families, and the autistic community. The ASC Lab is committed to conducting clinical research to investigate the use of communication within social contexts and the influence of context on performance. The team is particularly interested in social interaction and reciprocity, as well as intervention efficacy, and pre- and post-professional development from a neurodiversity perspective. To this end, the ASC Lab partners with the autism community and colleagues across disciplines to examine the nature of social interactions and how individuals impact communication and engagement. Additional information regarding individual lab members can be found under the “Current Lab Members” tab.
